German Route

In Germany or across borders – our network offers the right solution for every company. We offer tailor-made solutions for sustainable rail logistics – regardless of the transport volume and for customers with or without their own connection to the rail system. A tightly woven network with access points across the country is coupled with comprehensive customer service, creating an attractive package for any company.

Nothern Route: The fast Scandinavia connection

The north route transports both single wagons and intermodal trains safely and efficiently over a distance of 7,600 kilometers. The sophisticated planning of outward and return journeys creates a balanced flow of goods, ensures the constant availability of inexpensive freight wagons and also avoids expensive empty runs. The wide Danish network of individual wagons enables the industry to have an optimal distribution of goods in a flexible and customer-specific system.

Northwest Route: From Germany to the North Sea coast

The northwest route is the fast connection to the major seaports of Rotterdam and Antwerp and onward to Great Britain via Calais. The Dutch marshalling yard at Kijfhoek offers the perfect hub for transports. With high-performance lines such as the Zeebrugge or Antwerp shuttle and the connection to Cologne-Gremberg and the Ruhr region, the route also connects major destinations and marshalling yards for onward transport.

Southwest Route: Strong rail to Spain

Whether block trains or individual containers, DB Cargo provides a complete offer for the entire route, whether for the complete route or for sections, naturally including pre-carriage and on-carriage and coordination with everyone involved. With the expansion of the European standard gauge to Barcelona, it is no longer necessary to change axles at the Spanish border. In this way, trains can travel directly to the Mediterranean metropolis and easily reach the only Spanish port facility in the standard gauge network.

Southern Route: Fast and environmentally friendly to the south

Transport your goods to southern Europe via Germany and Switzerland. The range of services includes block trains and efficient single-wagon transports, where products from different suppliers are consolidated into full container loads. DB Cargo transports your goods quickly and sustainably to their destination.

Southeast Route: By rail to the Balkans

The southeast route takes links Germany and western Europe with southeastern Europe. This important route from southern Germany to Istanbul and the major international container terminal at Halkali also connects Vienna (Austria) and Oradea (Romania). These are important hubs with connections locally to the last mile or onward to eastern Europe.

Asian Route: By train to China

The best way to transport goods between China and Europe is by rail: DB Cargo ensures that more than 1,200 trains per year between Duisburg and the Chinese economic centers ensure an environmentally friendly exchange of goods. Customers have the option of booking both block trains and single-wagon transport. For time-critical products, there is the weekly "Speed Train", which covers the route from Xi'an to Duisburg in Germany in just ten to twelve days.
